US Open

I've got two dollars on all these, what do you think my odds are? lol

Goosen 40/1
Woody Austin 150/1
Snedeker 100/1
Justin Leonard 40/1
Immelman 33/1
Singh 28/1
Mickelson 7/1
Zach Johnson 80/1
Furyk 33/1
Sergio 18/1

I figured I would see how I did but I have never really bet on golf.
wish me luck

Re: US Open

not bad, i see a first time winner winning this. i like your sergio pick, he's hot right now. i think after the masters he started getting almost in the top 10 in every tournament he played in. i'm guessing tiger woods was the favorite? i bet on adam scott, sergio, and kj choi. like i said i see a first timer winning this or i'm pulling for one.

Re: US Open

I'd bet on anyone but Tiger.

I just don't think Tiger can take 2 months off, having surgery, admitting his knee isn't 100% yet, and win.

I still think Tiger probably has a better chance than anyone of winning, but that doesn't make it a good bet.

Usually, betting on favorites is a sucker bet. The odds aren't set so much on the real chances of winning, but on the expected action on bets to make sure the house makes a profit. I don't think there is any way Mickelson has the 1 in 8 chance of winning that his 7-1 odds suggest.

Re: US Open

Anyone else catch Sportscenter this morning? They tried to predict this year's winner by looking back:

Last amateur won it in the 1930s, so they ruled any amateurs out.

Last year's winner and several other categories were ruled out as well leaving five or six names: Tiger, Phil, Vijay, Mike Wier, one or two others I can't remember.

It turns out the average age of past winners is 32, which happens to be Tiger's age.

Interesting, but ultimately worthless.

Re: US Open

We know Mickleson can't win it without a driver...What a stupid decision.
