Good points JWM. The man has done a lot of good for golf and if he chooses or can't help self destructing and that is offensive to some then don't pay him any attention.
Personally I like the guy and believe he has problems that are difficult to sort out. Never having walked his road I cannot judge.
A case a day. I wouldn't mind having a few with him and listening to some of his stories.

Now he's found snokered outside a Hooter's restaurant in Winston-Salem,NC and taken to the "drunk tank" for a 24 hour sober up session. If a professional football, baseball or basketball player had behaved as JD has the past few years, he's be under a lifetime suspension. He's had so many second chances, he must have feline blood in his veins. Such a waste of an immense talent.

I dont really think John Daly is a disgrace to golf. Yes he has done some things that have made it look like he is but he does it just because he wants to have some fun. I have watch shows on ESPN on him and he DID play some great golf at a time in his life. He has hit some of the longest drives in golf. Then he got into drinking and smoking and his career went down the drain. Now, I think he knows he cant play as good as golf as he used too and so he just tries to have fun with it like in this video

The paper today, November 3, 2008, says that he went to sleep in his bus which was parked outside the Hooters, and his driver called the paramedics because Daly's eyes were open while he was asleep/passed out and was alarmed when he could not wake Daly. Wonder how the police got involved in this medical situation?? I surmise John was not too pleased with being awaken from a sound sleep in his own bed and communicated his upset to the medical personnel who called the cops--probably combative. Obviously, his judgment was seriously impaired when he was interacting with the paramedics. Can't really hold Daly at fault here. Sounds like an over-reaction by the local cops. They probably just should have told him to go back to bed and sleep it off, which is where he was before they showed up! Weird.

JD is a sick man. My earlier posts convey my feelings towards this type of behaviour. Quite disgraceful really. Let's just hope and prey that time will take care of JD and he returns as strong as ever in the future.

While I agree he is messed up, until you win two major I hardly think you are qualified to call him a loser.
