Re: Graeme McDcDowell,

In the Scottish Open, he came up from behind, he has a tendancy to do this. Though if he does lead on the first day as you think, then he might fall away. but I suspect still with a good finish.

Wow I'd love to see him do a double, what a steady & very likable player, so laid back.

I am really basing the tip on the fact that he is HOT at the moment and has played great for two weeks. I can't see any reason why he can't continue as we all know it is a game of confidence and top mental skills. Guess time will tell but I have backed him to be Top European for a starter and will double up if he performs well early.

Well I hope for you that your tip comes in, like you are predicting, if you've got money on the line over it.

Re: British Open

OH & someone we are all conviniently forgetting about is this man
Jeev becomes highest ranked Indian golfer,

His form has been there or there abouts for a while, which means he is due to strike another win & soon could it be at Thee OPEN

I followed him when he was here for the Indonesian Open...the guy can flat out play and has some salt as well...

Still...Westwood is my pick...

Yeah & he has the oddest swing for a pro you have ever seen. Crossing my fingers he leaves it well alone, as we all know what happened with Faldo when he messed with his.

L.Westwood
J.Milka Singh
G.McDowell
Jimenez
Poulter
Rose
S.Garcia
R.Green
R.Karlsson
G.Havaret

Not necesarily in that order & I'm not allowing for US players I'm currently unaware of stats for, but It will be interesting to look over this list in this order to see how near I am to the result Of the European tour players. And Garcia could well be higher than I'm predicting, but am allowing for brain fade

Re: British Open

I have been thinking about this since this thread was started. Looking at hot players and experienced sleepers and all the ones that could win. It has given me a headache, when you take the obvious choices out of the field. I mean even Monty could win. So here are my three picks.

Winner: Jimenez - this guy has all the tools and I think the weather and the course will play into his game quite nicely.

Contender: Anthony Kim - He has the game, we will just have to see if he can bring it.

Dark Horse: Phil Mickelson - I really hate to pick him because you never know which Phil is going to show up, but can you really leave him totally off the list.

Appleby has been playing well and I could freely switch him and Phil back and forth. Sergio is not going to win, it is not going to happen.

Yeah I know what you mean about Phil Mick' Wasn't aware how well he is doing, He's what UK comentaters would call a streaky player. Meaning their form runs in streaks, & also to how lucky they can get at times.

Not thought about Anthony Kim

Ross Fisher Won the other week & then disapeared off the Radar, He'll be my dark horse to perforem well again this week.

Yes Appleby... How about Geoff Ogilvy ? Could he appear right up in the mix too? Assuming he made selection ?

Re: British Open

As much as I'd love to say Sergio will finally do it, I'm saying Scott will pull it out, just barely beating Luke Donald.

Thing is Donald won't be there, hes got a wrist injury, which may need surgery, which not only means he's going to miss the OPEN, but also means there is a question on him making the Ryder Cup team in September...

Not only that, but Harrington has hurt his wrist too whilst practicing

Re: British Open

Strong blustery winds early on at the Open, with rain also hampreing play.

Lee Westwood well off the pace, Phil Mick' well off the pace.

Suprises of the day Monty, Goosen, Harrington, KJ Choi & Poulter....
All playing well..

Not everyone is out yet, but Poulter could really suprise a lot of people this week, if he keeps up what he's doing & for once looks comfortable

Choi is looking very Dangerous too.
