Question British Open

Who do you like in the British Open? I'm split in my cheering. Would love to see Phil Mickelson win another major, but it's hard not to pull for Sergio Garcia to break thru.

When I saw the topic title, I was thinking the same thing.

As for the winner, I'm rooting for Sergio to break through.

Re: British Open

Yep its the OPEN Championship.

I wasn't initially going to bite at this one, but decided to add my weight.

As for who to tip for the win.

Unfortunatley I really can't see Harrington putting ladybirds in the trophy this year, as his form just isn't good enough. Having said that, its always one of those events that are capable of provide us with exitement & a suprise winner.

Well, one of the Swedish players like Stenson & Co, after all he does have fanny on the bag.

Then there is Robert Karlsson. Although, his form isn't sparkling this season as last season. But that might be the thing that means he could be the one to tip, he's the player I think is most suited to this course.

Soren Hansen (Den), he's been a steady player all season, as has Jimenez{Esp}. Now I'd really like to see JImenez win.

Segio Garcia, well why not, he's probably playing better than he did last year & he does seem to look a lot better over his putts than he's done for a long time.

The young Brits like Justin Rose & Oliver Wilson etc are capable of it, but we'll see.

The french players can't be forgotten about. for instance & maybe especially Gregory Havaret.

As for the American players I really can't say, as I've not watched enough of the coverage from over the pond to judge what they are doing, though I must admit, that like in another thread, where someone liked Kenny Perry, I'll agree with that, whether it means he could be the winner of the open, well who knows.

If there had to be a player that often gets forgotten about its the Astralian player Richard Green, been watching his play over the past few weeks & its looking dangerous for a win & soon.

Re: British Open

You have to be IN it to win IT. So no win for Kenny Perry.

My pick, LEE WESTWOOD.

Re: British Open

Are yes, I forgot about Lee Westwood, one of my favorites behind Darren Clarke. Of course Clarke didn't make it either.
