Thumbs down US PGA Tour crowd behaviour

I have to admire the patience shown by all Professionals on the USPGA Tour having to put up with the ridiculous chanting by the spectators.

Obviously it is only a vast minority but people shouting out 'Get in the Hole' on a par 4 & par 5 teeing box is taking it just too far. When will the authorities start issuing stern warnings to these idiots and enforce evictions for serial offenders. Surely the golfing purists must be so annoyed by these actions.

Any views ?

All of this behavior is not disruptive in any way and it just goes to show how much popularity this great sport is getting. We should be happy in my opinion.

Yelling like that should be acceptable, as long as it's done after the golfers play their shot, because it doesn't bother the other golfers, and it makes everything exciting, and fun.

I personally think it's funny, and find that some people are a little too uptight when it comes to things being shouted from the gallery...loosen up people, what gets more people into the game is stuff like that.

I love it. It makes me laugh everytime I hear it. European crowds are very boring compared to ours... :)

yea it makes me laugh too but the get in the hole thing is annoying when they say it all the time. during the u.s. open someone yelled GET SOME!!!! after phil hit his tee shot i thought that was funny as ever. couldn't agree with you more when you say european tour is boring because i'm so close to falling asleep when i watch the european tour and the announcer doesn't help that at all

The most hilarious one that I saw during the U.S open was when tiger hit a shot, and I heard some guy shout "RICKY WHO?"

Re: US PGA Tour crowd behaviour

Last year at the US Open, someone brought the chant "ONE TIME!" I thought that was pretty funny.

As long as the galleries don't interfere with thecompetition, I guess they have a right to be a little raucous. But I have found that the lower the golf skill level of the fan, the louder he is.
