tiger commercials

are they for real? like the one where he has four balls lined up and the tiger doll tells him to slice, hook, draw, and knockdown shots and he does them all within seconds and within 5 ft of the cup...? kinda nuts, dont you tihnk? expecially since hes "not playing well"...

I am pretty sure Tiger can do all those things, maybe even if "Frank" was to call them out. Landing them all within a couple of feet of each other four shots in a row, I would imagine there is a little TV magic going on.

I think they are real. I remember that commercial a few years back where he bounces the ball on the wedge, pops it up and then hits it. When I first saw it, I thought it was unbelievable but then I heard he actually does it. I know with the commercial you're talking about, the shot where the last ball lands by the hole is cut so it might not be the actual ball but it could be.

One last note, it's not Tiger's talent. It's the Nike One ball they're advertising that does it for him.

The way they appear on TV is not always as they are. I agree he can do all those things (bouncing the ball on his club and hitting it down the fairway), playing left to right, right to left, over, under etc etc. But I also pretty sure it took him more than just one take to get it all right.

i heard the one where he bounces it on the wedge and thru his legs and pops it up and hits it only took one take..and the director was like...uhhh, okay, i guess were done... cuz they were expecting him to mess up at least a couple times...

if he could hit all those shots now, imagine if he were on top of his game.. he'd get an eagle every time..!

Not to derail the thread or anything, but, did anyone see Ernie Els before he teed off in the last round of the (British) Open? They showed a close-up of him bouncing a ball off the face of his driver.... I was amazed - I, too, thought that the Tiger thing with the wedge was all "TV magic." But, I guess that guys who live with a golf club in their hands can do amazing things.

Then, 10 holes later, Ernie hits one out of a bush, and saves par. That was some amazing club control, too.

The first time I ever saw a pro tourney in person, that was one of the things that struck me, too... guys bouncing the ball off the driver like that. I think they must get bored on the range sometimes and start trying tricks, weird shots, etc.

Im pretty good with the "dribbling" on the SW..haven't made that baseball contact though.

BUT I have noticed that when my game is ON I can whoop *** in a quick game of poison on the tee box.

I'd like to add a couple of things... First, Tiger's not playing well in tournaments. I'm sure his practice rounds and casual golf are still pretty amazing.

Secondly, a lot of people do crazy stuff on the driving range. I can hit it 200 standing on one leg and can drive it 120 with a putter. Then again, I get bored easily.

I'm sure if Tiger played a round with you at your local course, he'd make many many many birdies. Look at the Buick Open. Four rounds. 22 birdies, 1 bogey, all the rest pars. Heck, If I got 2 birdies and 1 bogey and all the rest pars in one round, it would be my best round ever by a few shots!

Anyway, I don't doubt for a second that Tiger could hit those shots on command. Now, whether he could do it with such accuracy so he hits Frank while he's schmoozing a female headcover on the 19th hole (in that other commercial), is a different story.

Oh, I originally meant to post a link but here are some videos to some exhibitions Tiger has conducted. I haven't watched them but I'm sure he demonstrates his ability to hit various shots at will and I think he'd probably do the bouncing the ball off of a wedge and hitting it trick.
