Just saw a report that Elin Woods may divorce Tiger. While not greatly surprising, it is still a shock. I thought/hoped they could work things out, even if it took a long time along with genuine contrition by him and a tremendous amount of understanding and forgiveness from her. I've been through several divorces (albeit not for the same reasons as above) and the effect can be emotionally, mentally and physically crippling. And what will be the outcome for the PGA Tour? I could see Tiger's game go into a long term slide or worse. What do you think of all of this?

I think he'll get over it quicker than the guy who's wife runs off with the neighbor...lots of shoulders to cry on and all that...I think he'll see his kids as much as he can make time for them and that dynamic won't change too much...I think he'll pour himself into practice...I think that being sorry is all well and good and turning the other cheek is admirable, but I really think anyone who runs around like he did doesn't have any business being married, not from a moral point of view only that it looks like a lifestyle choice to me and being married is cramping it...I actually think that he's going to be happy about it pretty quickly and it's Elin who will have the couple of years in the wilderness...Tiger's going to settle into bachelorhood like into a kid glove and without family competing for focus he's going to be opening cans of whup all over the tour next year...that's what I think...

I think Tiger could probably not care less. He obviously did not care before, don't see why he will start now. The sooner the divorce the better. Then we can all move on with our lives and get back to just watching golf and watching Tiger win 6 out of 10 tournaments he enters. He will DEFINATLY be back before the Open. It is at Pebble this year and the Majors record means EVERYTHING to this dude......he will not be gone long.

on a side note with all this. who else see's something comeing with tiger that has happened to kobe and big ben. i've got a big feeling that within the next year or two (give the girl a chance to let things cool down) that a girl will come out and say "tiger raped me after he asked me to stack his golf balls" and file for a lawsuit before going to the police.

I saw that she is trying to get the divorce in KALifornia because she would get more money out of it. Good for her.

I can only imagine what it will be like on the course once Woody comes back. Who draws the short stick to be his partner during all that mess?

I hope they do.... He will come back sooner than expected and will be better than ever!!!

I think his performance will be bad in 2010, with only 1 or 2 victories, but I expect him to return to his normal form in 2011.

I cannot imagine any woman staying her husband after all this. Well.... maybe Hillary.

Now Tiger is at a "sex addiction" facility near Hattiesburg, MS. If he completes the therapy, it might signal that he wants to save his marriage. Hmmm!
