USA Ryder Cup Team

Who do you think will earn the last couple of spots on the US team, and who deserves to be a Captain's Pick?

Jay Haas, without question. Cink and DiMarco also considerations.

ryder - captain picks

As a golf fan I would like to see BIG JOHN and under the best ball format, I think he would excel. Daly and Verplank would be my picks, with Haas a close 3rd.

I agree...Verplank and Daly would be my picks. I would also have Haas as a third option....my problem with Haas is....
1. He isn't explosive (as far as getting hot and firing up the croud)
2. When's the last time he's won anything (besides the father son tournament..lol)

Oh well....suppose we have a strong team regardless...go US!

cink?

not in my opinion. he doesn't have the fire or skills in big-time play to win.

Daly would be great to see and I think he is a viable option. One thing I like about John is his unabashed power with the driver yet soft touch with the short game. Fun to watch.

everytime i think of cink i think of his 3 putt on the 72nd at the open a few years back and how he tried to blow his win at harbour town this year.

You're right, Cink is not someone I'd trust with the Ryder Cup on the line. Then again, I don't think I'd trust Big John with it either, as much as I like him. But then again, we know who will be last out if the matches are close on Sunday morning, Tiger and Phil in some way shape or form in the last two matches. But for captain's picks, I'd take Haas and Daly, one steady guy and one to fire up the crowds. Dimarco is playing well and has a nice lead at the International ad may make the team on points, but if Jerry Kelly falls out of the top 10 I'd replace Haas with him.

OK, one last post, then I can go home to get 3 hrs of sleep...interesting article on how the selection process for the Ryder Cup team can be improved. After reading the article, I never realized the the European team had a completely different selection process.

I agree with most of u fellas that JD would be awesome to see in the ryder cup.
He hits a huge ball but also gets the the job done on the green.
For my otha choice id go for tod hamilton with his great consistency or Scott Verplank

Andrew

ps Shot 79 today with a 36 on the back nine - i play off a 14
