This is my first post. I am not a player. Like Peter Sellers, I just like to watch. However, in these times where everything is a chance to advertise, I had a novel idea. Does anyone remember the Michelob 18-pac from years ago with a golf hole on each carton? How about a promotion/contest where players compete in a game within a season? I.E. before the season 18 holes are selected from the courses on the tour. At the end of the year, the player with the lowest score on those holes wins a seperate championship. There would be one hole from Augusta, one (or two) from Pebble Beach etc. Just a thought. Thanks
That's a fairly good suggestion, and there's already something similar to your suggestion going on the PGA Tour. It's known as the Kodak Challenge, it began in 2009, and what happens is that in certain tournaments, there's a specific hole selected for part of the challenge. The player's lowest score on that hole for that 4-day tournament counts as their score for that hole. There are 30 differnet courses with 1 hole each that's part of the challenge. At the end of the year, the player selects 18 of their lowest scores of the holes they played on, and the player with the lowest cumulative score wins a million dollars.
The Kodak challenge is that exactly. They take a hole from a bunch of different course on the PGA Tour. This year there is 30 holes. Which ever player scores the lowest score out of the 18 hole Kodak Challenge wins a Kodak Challenge trophy and 1 million dollars. Its a cool mini tournament inside all the PGA Tour tournaments.
