9 Birdies on this course?!!?

I thought this was going to be a even par tournament. I will wager the PGA decides to make the golf harder and NOBODY is under par during the weekend.

I can not believe these scores.

Well, all of this talk was over this course being hard but here and there, I heard whispers that it was really just the players crying wolf. I haven't seen it on television but I assume the wind isn't really blowing. This is probably the biggest factor over whether the course plays tough or not and the PGA doesn't have any control over this.

For Thursday's first round, several forward tees were used. The par 3 17th, which, from the tips, plays around 237 yards, was 214 today. And the 500+ yard par 4 18th played 448 today.

Additionally, many of the pin locations were quite accessible and early-week precipitation had softened the greens somewhat.

With the weather forecast calling for sun and breeze throughout the weekend, which will firm up the greens and increase the speeds, coupled with tougher pin locations and back tees, you can rest assured the scores are going up.
