The problem isn't the equipment, it's the golfer. Switching from the Ignite driver to a Titleist driver isn't gonna change his slump. He's working too hard to shape his shots, instead of just trying to do a normal swing and letting whatever happens happen. He has a natural draw, but lately I've seen him slice and hook all over the golf course. He's got to calm down and just swing like he used to. No driver in the world is gonna help him do that; he's gotta do it himself.

Yeah, I agree, Greg. His opening tee shot today (a 2-I, I think) barely caught the fairway, and the swing on his approach shot had the look of a guy trying to steer the ball. Several other wayward tee balls and approaches that weren't zeroed it. I'm not Tiger-bashing. It was hard to watch. What's amazing to me is that he still managed to break par today. That's some kind of grinding!
To me honestly it's sort of sad to see the kind of incredible slump Tiger has fallen in. It's almost as if he's fallen into a hole which he is scraping to get out of, but can't. I sort of empathize with his efforts though, and I hope he pulls his act together, it really would be a shame if he just gave up, or retired. Worse would be if he got the yips. :P
Well the thing with Tiger is he has no way of finding out what hes doing wrong. I mean he is so good he can to an extent figure things out, but what if he get stuck. i.e. his driver. Who does he turn to, Stevie?
There is no driver in the world that would allow someone as closed as Tiger is at the top to be consistent. He is having to emply his small muscles way too much to hit straight shots. We all know that the small muscles are the least consistent in the body and therefore we try to minimize their use within the swing. His club is behind him and closed at the top which is why he is hitting either blocks or hard hooks...and why he is now "steering" the club. The only thing scarier than the "yips" is standing on a tee box not having any idea what shot is coming out of that swing...
Did anyone see his drive on 16th in final round at NEC? It was off the ****** planet! Even i would be surprised to hit it so far right, i mean it takes some sorta specials skill for a golfer like him to do that.

Well it is true, but my ball seems to somehow defy the laws of gravity, like today when i was going nicely at -2 handicap i hit my ball into a tree and didnt come down. But the lightning struck twice - 3 holes later my friend did the same thing - 2 holes-2 New Pro Vs-2 angry golfers, added to that it was club champs so that totally stuffed us both up
