Deutsche Bank Championship

This week's event at the TPC of Boston should provide some drama to what normally is a dull part of the PGA Tour season (after majors and pre-Ryder Cup) for many. Besides the usual wondering who's gonna win and what will we get from Tiger, the number one ranking is completely and truly up for grabs. Vijay versus Tiger, winner takes the top spot. I guess it's not perfectly up for grabs, if there's a tie Vijay takes over. So answer me these two questions:

1. Who's the winner?
2. Who will be #1 at the beginning of next week?

For me, I look for a younger guy who is a good iron player and streaky putter. The fairways are pretty wide, so they won't need to drive it perfectly to score well. I like Charles Howell III for the win.

As for the number one spot, I think Tiger will hang onto it, but just barely. He'll finish just inside the top 10 and Vijay just outside it. But wouldn't it be something if somehow Tiger and Vijay ended up in a sudden-death playoff with not only the title on the line but the number one ranking as well?

Talk about make the bookies go crazy in Vegas if that happened. Wouldn't it be great to watch that on TV.

This event got rave reviews from the players last year, and the strong field this week proves it. The players love the course, and are treated very well. And as we know from Tiger's trips to Germany, Deutsche Bank is known for its hefty appearance fees.

stlcard, I hope you are right, that would be some sudden death playoff!!

This is a long shot, but I think Nick Flanagan will contend this week. He is too good of a player to play as poorly as he is right now.

Johnny, you are right... looking at the field, there really isn't much depth... the thought of a Tiger/Vijay showdown is kinda cool though!
