Okay, this might be a little premature as Tiger's ball is up against a rock on the 18th hole but even if he can make bogey, he should be in the final group tomorrow with Vijay. So basically, they'll be in the final group for the tournament title and the World #1 ranking. This looks to be what everyone has been waiting for. Looking forward to watching some great golf tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to this. I'll give the mental edge to Tiger. If Tiger scores quickly, I wouldn't be surprise if Vijay succumbs to the pressure. But if Vijay starts off fast and puts pressure on Tiger, Tiger will not have enough gas to close the gap. Can't wait.
As I heard elsewhere. Vijay's attitude **** a bit, how can he not be dying to be world number 1!? If he really isnt that fussed, then he isnt going to go out later today with the same motivation to do well as tiger..... I want the Tiger of old back.....

Well, I'm sure being World #1 does mean something to Vijay. I actually thought I remembered him in the past saying he would like to attain this mark sometime before his career ends. I'm sure possibly being named Player of the Year means something to him, too.

I saw a recent Golf Channel interview with VJ where he said he was disappointed that he wasn't named Player of the Year last year. He stated, very frankly, that he thought he had played well enough to receive the honor.
Don't be surprised if the Tiger of old shows up today. I believe losing the #1 ranking (especially head-to-head like this) would hurt Tiger more than he lets on. It doesn't matter what sport, or at what level you play, no Champion likes to be dethroned.
On the other hand, if VJ doesn't "step up" and take what he (and many others) think is rightfully his, then the World Rankings won't matter. Everyone will know that VJ couldn't get the job done when the entire golf world was watching and it counted most. That includes VJ himself. This promises to be an interesting battle. VJ certainly has played better than Tiger this last year or so, and if he beats Tiger today, he's earned his #1 ranking. If VJ loses, all the discussion about who should be #1 will be moot. I don't care who wins...I just want to see great golf and a classic duel to the finish!

Vijay has just birdied the first hole of the final round! I think that he is going to grab this tournament by the throat and squeeze until he wins and walks away number 1!
