what we need to do

and this will NEVER happen because our spoiled american players won't take the time off to do this......

but the ryder cup is picked about a month before the matches begin. as soon as the team is picked the players need to begin "training" TOGETHER for the matches. they should play practice rounds together and practice playing alternate shot. spend a week together and really get the team idea pounded in their brains.

its about time we took this seriously and went out there and dominated the europeans like we should.

I agree. I think Sutton's pairings were the least creative ever. Obviously, future captain's should take note that pairing by WGR DOESN'T work.

I really think there should be more captains picks, and the players should have to apply for entry onto the team. All we heard about a month before the captain's picks were made was how badly Jerry Kelly wanted to make it. I would rather lose with a fiery Chris DiMarco or Jerry Kelly, than an ambivalent Phil Mickelson.

Does anyone share this sentiment? We need more battlers on our team.

Togetherness has to come from the captain down. The Europeans all performed as equals, whereas Sutton seemed determined to keep reminding his players which of them had finished highest up the money list. Even at the closing ceremony the U.S. team marched out in order of rankings. Each guy knew they were walking behind the guy in front for a reason...they had not made as much cash as him. The Euros on the other hand came out alphabetically. It was the whole competition in micro!

Sutton should also be strung up for putting the guys out in that order on Sunday. Fair enough he needed points on the board early, but placing them by order of merit finish??? My 4-year-old son could have done that! Riley should have been higher with the under-performing Mickelson way down.
