Boy this year is turning into a nightmare for Tiger. Terrible play, the media going on about how his fiancee is no longer with him, Earl being sick, and now a possible injury. In the other article, which goes into a little more depth, he said he would play if the tourney started on Wednesday. That is a good sign if you ask me. I just wonder if he tries to take one of those big swings out of the rough if it might cause permanent injury. Hopefully not.

Granted, having a back injury when you've already got $300 million in the bank may not be as bad as some things, but when added to the other things that have already happened to him this year I think it's safe to say that this has been as bad a year as he's had since he turned pro. That's what I was getting at buns.

Oh apologies, I wasnt meaning to be rude towards you, I was just saying that he was no doubt in luxurious first class with all the trimmings, as comfortable as you can possibly get.... most of us do coach and never do our selves any damage!

True buns, most of us don't have a 130 mph swing speed either! I'd imagine any back pain would be magnified as hard as he goes at the ball.... But, he's supposedly getting married in Barbados next week, so maybe this "injury" is just a way to throw the press off as to when and where he's actually getting married

While the story seems kinda hokey, I can understand the feeling. I was once on a golf trip, and playing great. The last night in the hotel, I don't know if it was the pillow, or the A/C in the room, but I woke up with such a stiff neck, it hurt like * to swing a club, and I played in pain the last day. Even after a massage, and couple of days of taking it easy, I still had trouble with my golf swing for about a week.

I didnt know about the wedding, im well chuffed for him though again it reminds me of my own increasing age!!

When you mention him at 130mph..... what is VJ's speed? I had got the distinct impression that Vij was out hitting Tig these days

You know, over this year I've read a lot of info on the knee that had surgery not being up to snuff. Wonder if that caused a change in the swing, which in turn caused the slide through the ball (causing all the shots lost right this season), and now affects the knee?...

I don't know what Vijay's swing speed is but I do know there's more to distance than swing speed. At the Battle at Bridges, they had a few holes where they measured some stats on a few driving holes and the person with the fastest swing speed didn't always hit it the furthest. I think ball spin had the biggest effect on drives.

Too bad for Tiger, though. Hopefully the injury isn't that bad and will be able to play this week. I know Gaz was already dissappointed about Vijay withdrawing. I'm sure he'll want to see Tiger, too.

Tiger doesn't travel on commercial flights He leases his own private jet. Somehow I just can't see Tiger sitting next to "Sign Boy"
