I think that this is almost a no brainer like the PGA Tours. If Stads doesn't win the Jeld-Wen Tradition then he has 4 wins, without a major and there might be an argument for Irwin. But deffinatly Stads.
Yes it did and I had forgotten about that and it is ashame that he let something like that happen, but there is one thing that I do have to say in his behalf, he did not try to use his celebrity status to get out of it I think that says a lot about him.
Yeah I agree, but his DWI here in Michigan takes away from a fine season in my eyes.
Come on now, Leaguegolf! Everyone knows that Michigan has the worst drivers in the Upper Midwest, if not the United States--with the possible exception of New Jersey. A drunk from any other state is just about an average driver in Michigan! The cops probably spotted Craig because he was driving so much better than the rest of the Michigan drivers on the road and suspected that something was up.
Besides, what does getting picked up for a DWI have to do with a "fine season" on the Champions Tour or being named Player of the Year?

I won't disagree with the "worst" drivers tag. Michigan drivers are about the worst.
I felt Stadler's fine season was tainted "in my eyes" a bit with his DWI because he was traveling from one Champions' Tour event to another (both in Michigan) when he was stopped. His arrest resulted in him withdrawing from a local event that sponsors had heavily advertised his appearance. Although he apologized, and seemed truly disappointed in himself, this irresponsible, and dangerous, act put other lives, as well as his own, in danger.
In a way, Stadler's withdrawing from an event as a direct result of his DWI did deter from his season, as it may have prevented him from adding another win. JMO
I'm sure that Stadler would agree with you on every point, Leaguegolf.
My original comments were intended for entertainment purposes only, and in no way were intended to defend or promote driving under the influence of any intoxicating substance at any time in any state.
I did vote for Stads, but i am torn as he and Peter Jacobsen are two of my favorites of all. I do however think Jac's comeback adfter surgury was one of the best
