Els says Vijay is better than Tiger

A friend sent me this article in which Els says, "In my opinion, Vijay is now the best golfer in the world and has been for little over a year."

I haven't seen any news about it anywhere else but I'm sure there will be a firestorm of discussion over this soon.

Okay, I was reading the title of my thread and I'd hate to put words in Ernie's mouth. He just said Vijay is the world's best golfer right now which would make him better than Tiger. Sounds like Ernie has been involved in some interesting discussions. First it was the long putter debate, now it's the #1 golfer debate.

Ernie does not mind speaking his mind. A good thing, I think. However, am I wrong or did Tiger not beat both Ernie, VJ, Lefty (all of them and everyone else in his last two events. well, except for the winners, of course ;-0

One way to quiet everyone on this topic is coming up very soon. Tiger beats to his own drum and I believe that very soon everyone will once again agree that TW is the best today

I thought it was pretty amazing that Tiger finished as well as he did in the past two tournaments especially considering his driving accuracy. He's playing in the Memorial but I think everyone's going to be paying attention to the U.S. Open and how the top contenders fare. If Vijay wins the U.S. Open, there will be an even stronger case for him as best golfer but if Tiger wins, people will probably say he's back especially because he's still ranked #1 at this moment.
