So does this mean that the fourball of old guys who play every single morning on my course, come rain or shine, may actually be the undiscovered best golfers in the world?
Posting on these boards is always good for me. Makes me think. This board thinks that just because Annika won 9 times she is the greatest of all time. What the board is missing is that without the other players there would not have been 9 events. Since you have to have the other players, you now have to treat them all fairly. Like any sport that determines a final champion for the year, all the participants have to compete in a "Round Robin Competition". Many of the Olympic individual events and team events such as hockey are "Round Robin Competition". Baseball is the same. If the Minnesota twins could choose not to play in Yankee Stadium and a couple of other stadiums their won / loss record would always be so high they would always be in the world series. But now that wouldn't be fair to the other teams, would it? In 2003 Matt Kenseth won only one race, while Ryan Newman won 8. The way this board thinks NASCAR should have forgot all the races that Ryan did very poorly in and not give Matt any credit for all the times he finished in the top 5. This board would have crowned Ryan the National Champion instead of Matt. Golf is a sport like any other sport and cannot set itself above the world wide standards for naming champions.
The only way to fairly name champions is that ALL the players need to compete against each other the same number of times. In all other sports if you elect to not compete you get a zero, not applause. You cannot pick and choose so that you select the players and the course that suits you.
However, after all is said done, I am going to make the following changes to my rankings. Since Annika does not play in the Canadian Open and apparently is not going to play in the two new events in Mexico, I am going to remove those events from my US rankings. This leaves only 21, for sure, events and she would only need to play in 15 events. The maximum could be as high as 17 events. This of course would not be fair to Lorena Ochoa. So for the first time ever I am going to create an International ranking for the 7 events outside the USA. Since she for sure will play in 5 of the 7 she will be the hands down favorite to win. In this way they both will have full "round robin" competition available to play against and can compete against the best players. The other five events are either partner play or limited player exhibition events.
Annika Sorenstam and Lorena Ochoa play on the LPGA Tour, and NASCAR information should probably be in the Sports forum. Just trying to help you out a bit here.

With out Annika there wouldn't of been those nine events. I realze your theroy is that the people who play in the most tournaments are the best players on tour, but with out the big players there would be no tournament. Think about how the PGA Tour is telling Ernie that they don't want him playing on the European Tour. With out the big name players people don't come and they don't watch on TV.
