Early Masters picks

I always have a flutter on the majors... usually three players.

Last year I made a killing. I had £10 on Lefty to win, £10 on Ernie each way (he came second), and £10 on Sergio (he came fourth).

This year my early favourites are, the obvious ones like Ernie and Sergio again plus Vijay, but also Luke Donald and outside bets of Chris Di Marco and Lee Westwood. Oh and of course I think Lefty will put up a strong defence.

What do you guys think?

TyeDye, Being a bit of a golf gambler myself, I think Goosen looks good value at 20/1 for the masters..!

I'm going to put $20 on Casey Wittenberg. As an am. last year he shot even par and finished in the top 15. I don't know how the system works but you could of probably made a good ammount off that.

Do you mean betting on him to be the low am or to win the jacket... my local bookies only does basic bets so I dont know wheter I could get a bet on low am, I suppose I could do it online though.

Retieff Goosen is a good shout. 20-1 is great odds considering his form this year.

When you ask for "Early" picks, you ain't lying! It's still November. The Masters is 5 months away. An awful lot can happen in the golf world in 5 months. :nodsmiley

My sentimental favorite would be Greg Norman...if he gets an invite.

I'd like to see Lefty take it...but who knows what kind of year the Tiger is gonna have?
I think it's going to be another one of those years, with up-and-comers making a splash.
Makes it exciting, if nothing else.

1998 - Victories for Tiger - 1

98 was the year he went through his first swing changes.

2004 - Victories for Tiger - 1

04 swing changes part duex.

Now ask yourself, how did he play 99-03? I think he is going to be a force to deal with in 05. My money, will remain in my pocket until Jan. 5th. But at that time, should he put up a nice performance in Hawaii. . . it will be put on him to win, Lefty second, while Vijay third. Ernie wont make it within the top 10. No factual basis to back up my Ernie prognosis, I just have this itch. lol

Yeah it is very early but last year I had an early inckling for Phil, but by the time I put my bet on he had won the Bob Hope and his odds were down from 30-1 to 10-1.
