Can we end this pointless debate? Everyone with half a brain agrees Tiger's first 9 seasons totally blow away Vijay from every statistical angle, but RIGHT NOW Vijay is the better golfer, and we'll see what happens in 2005!

Pointless debate, Uc8U, I agree, Fun to talk about, definetly. There are many things you could look at that could forshadow the events of this upcoming season. Most of which lean toward Tiger being the heavy favorite in the 2005 season. I give Vijay a large amount of credit, to having an awesome season, 9 wins, thats great!! But you have to look at tiger, he had many years IN A ROW with the same level of play that Vijay had this season. Tiger didn't have to "under go" extensive swing changes, but he did, for the future. His performance at the Target World Challenge was exeptional. Mistakes often caused by his putting, if he was putting well, his win would of been a run away. And the thing that really touched me the wrong way, was after Saturdays round the reporter asked Tiger is now that hes married, is theere more responsibility to winning,to be financially stable, is that guy on??? Tiger makes millions of dollars on endourcements alone! His golf will always be in top shape. Im sure tiger loves the game of golf more than his wife (even though she is drop dead sexy). And he wont let it all go down the tubes for a woman (assumption made). Now seriously, if anyone thinks Vijay is better than Tiger, they couldnt be more incorrect. Even though the World Golf Ranking state otherwise, Tiger is still the dominant force on tour, and Im sure when Tiger plays in events, other tour players are more worried about him than Vijay! :nodsmiley

no back...are you a Tiger hater?...It seems everytime someone gives Tiger any credit you jump in with some sarcastic remark. if so...you are entitled to your opinion and that is fine, but I am just curious why? Are you just sick of seeing one person dominate and take satisfaction in his off year?

Not at all. I dont hate Tiger. I love watching Tiger pull off some of those shots. I just have to laugh when people say he is back and that he is going to be feared (wait, better not change the words here) that poeple are now worried about him more than the guy that HAS dominated the tour the last 2 years when Tiger has been making "swing changes".
The fact is, VJ is no.1. ----- Tiger is not.
As for credit given, why not give the rest of the field some when they whole heartedly deserver some. The PGA Tour does not stand for "The Tiger Tour".

My take on certain Tour players being "worried" about others that enter tournaments is this...Tiger, Vijay, Ernie and Phil are not worried about anyone that enters a tournament..these players are good enough to win anytime anywhere no matter what the field is like. The only scenario that I could see a player being worried about is if they are fighting for their first win and one of the above mentioned players are in the last group with them...or they are trying to get a top ten to save their card for another year.
Seriously, put yourself in their shoes...your a millionaire (most tour players are), are you really going to be "worried" about another player entering a golf tournament?
I guess in my rambling way...I agree with you, that being said, I am a Tiger fan..and a Phil fan...and a Ernie fan...NOT a Vijay fan
