His head might've been steaming when he grilled his team but the media and fans have torched him and his hat since the loss!
The pairing of Mickelson & Tiger no doubt aided the European team...and the leading out of the American team in `money winning` order in the singles was thought by some to be unimaginative...nonetheless, I can`t help but feel a little sorry for Sutton, as it`s his players that have to produce the goods at the end of the day.

You are so right about the player's having to produce. They didn't....end of story for us US supporters and the beginning of the party for you Euro fans!

I think it will be REALLY tough for the Americans to win at the K club (as it`s already a venue on the European tour), but thereafter LG, I`m sure we`ll (Europe) be in for real hammering in due course..................(unfortunately) ...Especially if America ever changes it`s team qulaification over to a one year period. Choosing `hot` players must give something like a 1-2 point advantage straight off.
Already it starts. Oh man, are we going to have to put up with this for another year & 1/2 ?
Sorry mate, i didnt mean to start a sparring match! I just had to stick it in,
i couldn't help myself
The assistants actually do have a large involvement. Anybody read Mark James' book Into the Bear Pit? Excellent book and it goes on about the running of a Ryder Cup team and behind the scenes stuff in great depth.

You missed the Ryder Cup battles we had here (I wish I would've ) but we know it's all in fun.
Mark James....another American favorite. I got Feherty's Ryder Cup book for Christmas but I haven't had time to read it yet.
I`ve read `into the bear pit`...I couldn`t understand why James chose Coltart over Langer as one of his captains picks, especially as Langer almost qualified in his own right I can`t help but think `...what if` , had Langer been in the team.
I see Peter Alliss has his auto-biography out at the moment, that`s on my list as soon as I get paid. I think Peter`s very funny...
