Dead Horses

Just when I thought we were finished with Paul Casey and Isabelle Beisiegel they both pop into the news again.

Paul Casey has withdrawn from the PGA Tour event in Phoenix amid speculation that the rowdy crowds there would find ways to chastise him for his "alleged" comments about insular Americans following the Ryder Cup. Didn't he attend ASU? Wouldn't this be like a "home game" for him? Do you think this might only be the beginning of his problems in America this year? Just wondering.......

Now to my favorite female on the PGA Tour scam artist wannabe, Isabelle Beisiegle. She's going to try to qualify for several more tour events against the men in 2005, including the US Open. She's at least trying to qualify (I'll give her that much) but after her Tour Qualifying School scam, she doesn't deserve the time of day. The US Open has no gender restrictions but does have a standard of a 1.4 index to be considered. If the USGA makes her use her Qualifying School scores...won't she be ineligible? (I borrowed that, but it fits!)

We've beat these two to death (hence the thread title) on other issues but they just won't stay dead will they? What do you think?

Casey's being a chicken...he "stood by his comment" and while it may have been taken slightly out of context, it was still a backhanded slap in the face of Americans, and if he can't back up his words, then let him leave and have someone who wants to play try and earn their living there.

As for Beisiegle, it's just a way to drum up more publicity for her "Your logo would look great and receive lots of attention on Izzy's bag" stunt. She's beyond pathetic already. :nodsmiley

Looks to me like that's exactly what he's doing!

Shouldn't Bob Barker be Beisiegel's agent? You know.....the Price is Right!

Not defending Casey but supposedly he has a back problem...here's a c & p from GOLFONLINE:

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Paul Casey withdrew from this weekend's Buick Invitational because of a back problem.

It is unclear as to when Casey suffered the injury, but he did play in last weekend's Sony Open. He missed the cut after struggling to a nine-over 149 in his season debut on the PGA Tour.

The Buick Invitational kicks off on Thursday at Torrey Pines. John Daly is the returning champion.

Could be an excuse...whether it is or not, I've seen controversy boil over less.

jimmigan, you can do a search on Isabelle on this site and get the whole story.

Casey may have withdrawn for any number of legitimate reasons but Americans need someone to root against (ask Monty about that ) and I think Casey has just filled Monty's shoes.

I think Casey has just filled Monty's shoes.

Hopefully he will in the Ryder Cup too.

Casey doesn't appear to be as mentally tough as Monty yet...WD from this week's event as well. Must be a REALLY "bad back" eh?

Well if he is skipping a couple of events, it probably is legit.
