Gee, here all I figured he had to do to win was get the ball into the cup on the 18th hole Sunday in the fewest total strokes over 18 holes. Didn't realize there were so many "ifs" involved.

You could also say that Vijay took the number one spot while Tiger was making swing changes. When Tiger played bad last year Vijay won. It goes both ways.

leaguegolf...........That's no. 2 on that list of sixty million.
We keep plenty busy trying to keep the troublemakers like wazmankg and girlgolfa in line... A forum like that would be a nightmare! I sense it'd be getting "hot" in there very quickly.
I am sick and tired of everyone always talking about Tiger having the flu or something. It seems every other week something is wrong with him. The media always makes up excuses for El Tigre (by the way, to the person who started this thread, El Tigre is not a compliment or nickname. It is meant to be an insult). He got lucky this week. Big deal. Last year, Joey Sindelar, Vaugn Taylor, Heath Slocum, Craig Parry, etc all won events. Todd Hamilton won the British Open. Big deal. The question is whether or not El Tigre will keep this going or if it is just a one time deal. Anyone can win any given week. But not everyone can win more than once a year.

Reason: Inappropriate Language
First of all, Tiger admitted his swing wasn't up to his standards this week in post round interviews. Second, the person who said they could see he was "laid off" and basically recapped Faldo's analysis: he said that the club was laid off and too flat, well of course it was when he pointed it out on that 3/4 swing. If the club wasn't anywhere close to parallel where else is it going to point?
Second, Tiger is a better player than Vijay. They both had their B games this week, Tiger won and Vijay came in 23rd or something like that. That's the difference between them, they are both OUTSTANDING players when they play well but Tiger is a shotmaker and a grinder and can stick it out. When Vijay is having an off week he doesn't know what to do with himself.
When they both have their A games back, then it will be interesting to watch.
Tiger had a nice tournament... no one of much significance made a run at him and he caught a break or 2. Congrats to Tiger. I'm curious about this grading system, though. How do you know whether to give VJ's game a B or a C+ or Tiger's an A- or a B. What sort of criteria are you using ? Or was this just something you picked up at Cliches-R-Us ?
