His swing looked a bit weird on the first shot on the last hole today! I'm glad he finally won though!

No doubt, he did have some awkward swings, especially early in the final round, but it seemed like when the pressure started getting greater, he calmed down more. He hit some good shots down the stretch and outlasted everyone. A good win for him which will give him a boost of confidence.

I hope you're not counting his second shot on #18. That ball could've gone in the water very easily and probably should have. :nodsmiley Unlike the unlucky break that Howell got on #18, the Golf Gods smiled on Tiger with his shot.

I'm not sure Tiger ever lacks for confidence but this win could be his springboard to a great battle for the #1 player in golf!

As LG pointed out, I think you're speaking of his second shot on 18. His tee shot was a monster drive in the fairway quite a ways ahead of Lehman and Lonard's drives.

It's looking like Tiger's game is pretty much where he wants it to be right now. He's hitting that driver really well compared to last year when a 2 iron hitting the fairway was hit or miss. I still think it's going to be hard pressed for Tiger to catch Vijay this year because of the gap in performance last year and I think they both will play well. Despite this, I think this is shaping up to be an exciting season.

Good win for Tiger. He didn't play his best, but no one else could take advantage. That's the difference between Tiger and everyone. He can beat them with his B game.

That is a sign of a great player. They can be off their game a bit yet still come out on top through gutting it out with sheer willpower. We've seen Tiger, Ernie, Vijay, and guys like that do it at times lately as guys like Snead, Hogan, Nelson, Hagen, Jones, Arnie, Jack, Tom, etc. did before them.

I picked up Tiger, Lonard and Lehman at 15 this morning on his third round and followed them in and then on to 1 on their fourth round. It was a golfing fan's nirvana. No more than 20 people following them to start. My read is that Woods' needs to look at video because if I can see it, surely he can. His backswing is too flat and at the top of the swing he is pointed left of target while being laid off. Holy smokes, forget about pride and Harmon etc. etc.. if a regular golfer like me can see it; surely he can. The video does not lie. On the 72nd hole he got lucky because he was so laid off and hit the ramp up. From there, he hit a poor 56 degree. But then he showed why he is the best golfer in the world by making the clutch putt. All in all, the day kind of showed me that Woods is the toughest guy out there but his ego is keeping him back from being even better. GO BACK TO BUTCH AND QUICKLY!!!

Tiger is never going back to Butch. Get over it...Tiger has. Tiger will never have the swing he had in 2000. He's grown, his body is much different today than it was back then, and he's had knee surgery. Every player's swing evolves and Tiger will find a way to evolve with his.

This is the kind of performance that Tiger came close to several times last year.... having bad patches of ball striking but battling hard.. its just that last year he couldent finish it off hence all the 3rds and 4ths... but this time he kept up the pressure right to the 72nd hole and got the reward.

Eeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I knew Tiger could win again, as long as.....

1) VJ played badly
2) Phil didnt show up
3) Howell gets the shaft
4) Els didnt make his move
5) Luke Donald colapses
6) Lehman is still an old geezer

and the list goes on and on

Tiger's short game, under pressure, is amazing. His up-and-downs prove how tough a competitor he is. I caught the last few holes, and except for that second shot on 18, he appeared to hit his shots really nice. Pretty good drive on the last hole?

I was rooting for Lehman, but talk about "headlights in your eyes." He looked scared the last few holes. His tempo quickened and his putting deserted him. The announcers said he had a putt worth $270k on the last hole, a slippery 3-4 footer down hill - with victory out of reach it would have been great to see him hole it. Too bad. Also he looked really "down" walking off 18 - a quick handshake to Tiger and he was gone. Can't blame him I guess, he was so close.

Looks like its shaping up to be a pretty interesting golf season.

Are you trying to start something no_back ? Don't you realize that the reason for all of that was the mere sight of the almighty El Tigre (what did he just discover some Spanish ancestors, too?...SpanCablanasian ?) atop the leader board. After all, he did have to battle it out with CH3("you mean I have to play Sunday, too?), Luke Donald.... or is it Donald Luke and Tom("you mean they DIDN'T turn the way-back machine to 1996 ??) Lehman. The one & only El Tiiiiiiiiigre ees back.... yeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaa
