Is Tiger Back?

Is Tiger going to have a good year? Well, of course he is gonig to have a good year, but how many wins will he get? I think he gets 3 or 4. I think he truely is back, not like he was in the late 90s trough 2002, but it's hard to tell this early in the season.

I don't see him missing any cuts this year. I think 3 or 4 wins is about right. I'm still waiting for JD and Badds to win, personally.

I think Tiger will definitely will have 3-4 wins this year. At least one of them will be a major. He has to win a major this year if he wants to keep pace in breaking Jack's record.

the defintion of tiger being truely back is at least 5 wins. Tiger being Tiger is winning 25% of what he enters and a major or two. The thing I liked about his win was during the last seven or so holes he quit his crying, cursing, and clubslamming and just went about his business. That might be the focus that he has been missing.

I was going to post that Tiger's victory only puts him in the same category as all the other Tour players who were "back" when they won ONE event last year. But I didn't want to stir up all the Tiger is God fans.........so I didn't.

I'd guess he'll win 4 or 5 events and with the major courses this year setting up nicely for him, I think he'll take one major at least as well.

Jumping the gun aren't you Wazman? I posted that Tiger has "one" victory so far and that alone puts him in the same "I'm back" boat as all the other 1 victory players from last year.

Tiger may very well win several (or more) times this year but he ain't "back" until he gets back to the dominating player he once was. One win doesn't quite put him there!

Tiger still isn't "back" per se. I want to see his performance at the Masters before I make any final judgements, but I am looking foward to the Players Championship this year. And the Bay Hill Invitational. Those are two tournaments I always look forward to.

Tiger had a win. So what? Anybody can win. It takes a real player to win multiple times, and one of the best to have 9 wins in one year. I'm not expecting Tiger to do that, but if we see another 2 or 3 wins out of him, I'd say he's back. Keep in mind, though, he's been playing well for a while now. Don't count out all of the Top-10s and Top-25s he's made throughout 2004. Let's not just ignore those during 2005 too.

I think it is FAR too early to decide if he is back or not. That is a lot coming from a huge Tiger fan. Ill make my decision after Augusta. :) Which I think he will win. :)

That kind of thinking I can respect. I also think he's due for another Masters win. We'll all know how "back" he truly is by then. :nodsmiley

Well, it's easy to say someone's "back" after they've just won a major, but there are some who like to stick their neck out once in a while and speculate on the future. If you're right, it makes you look twice as smart for having the foresight to come up with it before anyone else.

His swing is looking good, putter not so good. Tiger's 2nd shot on 18 was not the Tiger of old. From 235 yds he blocked it so bad that it was 30-50 yds short & lucky it wasn't in the drink.

Tiger left key putts short ... Eagle putt & par putts.

Alot of (choking) by all the players in contention, it seemed to me.

He took 25 putts in the final round and was second in the field in putts and putts per GIR this week. Not so good eh? The swing is definitely more disordered than the putter right now.
