David Duval is the man

I can't imagine anyone else on the tour smiling while posting a 10 over 82 today at the Bob Hope...

I didn't see the whole round, but what things have you all noticed that have changed from the old "Mr. 59" days? Other than the high scores, of course... is it a mechanics thing? Poor choices?

I have a tape of Duval's win at The Player's Championship here at Sawgrass in '99, and I must say that he picked that course apart like it was nothing!

In my opinion, he should go back to those DCI Titliest irons and reek havoc on the golfing world again.

It's hard to believe what has become of Duval. Hopefully he can find that game again, it would be great to see him come back and try to become the #1 player in the world again.

I agree. It would be a great story, as unlikely as it would be. No one has ever fallen so far off his game and returned to be the best player in the world. I'm pulling for him too though!

If we could solve David's demons we'd probably all be scratch golfers. I think his problem is mental. I've never been a big fan of Duval because he always seemed aloof, disinterested and expressionless on the course (before his 59 anyway) but I certainly rooted for him at the Open Championship in 2001 because he deserved it. That seemed to be his last good season. he's definitely a mystery.

Duval's 49 on the Back Nine

Man oh man, it pains me to look at his scorecard lately. That 49 though, holy smokes, something is very wrong. Come back to form David!!

DD is a great guy and very popular on Tour , especially in Europe. He'll return, form is temporary , class in permanent.

He needs to get hungry.

you know what would be a better story? if i became a 15 handicapper considering i started playing golf 5 months ago :nodsmiley ...i currently shoot right around 95-100...i guess ultimate goal is to become a single digit handicapper in the next two years..

Not to be cruel but......sadly, it looks like that might be Duval's goal too.
