Tigers kiwi caddy Steve Williams who races speedway cars when he's not working was injured on Friday night in NZ when the car he was racing crashed and rolled. He suffered a severe deep cut to his left arm/hand and it took surgeons 3 to stitch all the muscles, nerves etc back together.
Being a true kiwi though he says hes fine and will back at work in time for the Nissan Open in 3 weeks
I read about it. I believe he said he didn't want to miss out on this season because he thinks Tiger is in for a big year. IMO, his hand is the least of what he has to worry about. Since he's a caddy, he'll have to carry a lot of weight for a long period of time. If he has any back problems, that could be troublesome. Hopefully, he'll make a full recovery in time for the Nissan or sooner.

Unless he is grabbing someones camera
...yeah...I`d have loved to have seen him around the x-ray machine at the hospital. "...Mr Williams, can you PLEASE keep still while we take this x-ray"...what a dilemma for him
I can picture the scene now..."...quick, someone call security, there`s a madman in ward three trying to throw the x-ray machine out of the window into the patients ornamental pond"

Any idea who will be taking his place caddying for Tiger? What happens if Tiger gets hot while Williams is recuperating? Does Williams automatically get his job back? Just wondering.

nope. caddies have no union and no power. they get hired and fired on little to zero notice.
if tiger got hot and williams was ready, tiger could easily tell stevie his services are no longer needed.
He could always pick up Dave Renwick for a few weeks... In seriousness, it might be one of his buddies that used to caddy for him once in a while in some events that I recall...maybe Bryon Bell or Jerry Chang.
Sorry to hear about your caddy. I am available to fill in on a temporary or permanent basis. I will gladly accept only 5% of your earnings. Just don't put too much extra weight into your bag, OK? Such as an umbrella. And who says a guy as talented as you needs all 14 clubs, anyway? Am not too good with yardages, but am sure you'll help me with that. I'll need a cap, by the way; could you spare me one? A nice blue one, maybe.
Jim, Jim, Jim......no chance! I emailed him with all the stuff you offered as well as a promise to cook non-poisonous pasta and to stand between him and any camera clicks in the manner of Stevie!
i heard someone was trying to take his picutre around turn 3 and he instinctually went for the camera and hence, he crashed right into the wall.
Johny, you got part of it right. LIke you said it was at turn three when stevie reached out the window at full speed,to grab the camera. He had a good angle on it, but the impact of grabbing the camera at such a high speed actually caused the damage, and the shock of the blow made him loose control and then crash
