Singh just had one of the Top 10 best SEASONS on the PGA TOUR but is in no way one of the Top 10 Best of All time. 1 GREAT season does not make a GREAT career...just ask Bob Tway. I think VJ's age will catch up to him before he has a chance to win enough to make it far enough up the list...Top 50 definitely but Top 10...NEVER!
The YGers have no sense of history. If they didn't see it happen....it can't be worth noting.
it would be great if these players could all be about the same age and play against each other, but I would suspect Player might have a harder time these days with the longer yardages, but he did overcome that in his day. the mind and determination can overcome difficult obstacles. something the yg'rs have yet to learn, lol

Player did pretty well against the longest players of his day (Jack and Arnie) and with the added length he'd get with today's equipment, I believe he'd still be a "Major" factor!
Watching the old BIG THREE GOLF matches on TGC between Player, Arnie, and Jack are a real lesson in how good these guys really were. :nodsmiley
Does anyone else find it odd that someone thinks that Greg Norman is the greatest golfer of all time...?
Yes, I found that just a tad amusing. When discussing the greatest golfers of all time, Greg Norman would rightfully not be mentioned with any seriousness.

That's what the wording "best" leaves open. I won't agree with their assessment, but some might feel that the Shark at his best might have been better than those others at their best.
Absolutely, stl. As a matter of fact, the more I think about it, the more I can understand someone thinking that Greg Norman was, in fact, one of the best of all time.
When I look back and remember the all-around game Greg had, it makes me realize how much the mental aspect comes into play. Greg certainly had the game enough to win seven, eight or nine majors. Maybe more. He would most definitely have to be remembered as one of the most, if not the most, how might I say it....starcrossed golfers of all time. And that's the nice way to put it.

People forget that Norman held the #1 Ranking longer than anyone else until Tiger broke his consecutive week streak last year or the year before. Many pros had streaks where they were the best in the world for short periods, but to be an "All-Time" great you must have longevity at the top and more than just a couple of Majors to your credit.
