Am I the only one that feels as if I am being jipped by the TV coverage? I like how USA/CBS can have 3 hours worth of golf coverage, and the player going up to be #1 this week. . . can not be seen, due to his late tee-time. I love the skills over at the PGA and USA on making sure those of us who want to see the big names this weekend, doesnt happen.
Maybe it is just me, but watching Weir, Paven, Haas, Driscole, etc, is only so entertaining after an hour and a half.
They can only show us the players that are playing at the time. Unless you're one of those that would prefer watching Tiger's shots from yesterday.....on tape.
Looks like USA was doing the best they could with what they had to work with but I'm with you........boring
I enjoy seeing the other players. If they were to follow Woods around for every shot, pre shot, post shot, Stevie taking pot shots at spectators it would get old quick. I think if you were to look you might find a thread or three about Tiger getting too much T.V. time.
I hear you guys.. I guess since they have that 3 hours of TV to work with it would be impossible. Unfortunatley its not like they will extend coverage for golf..... I wish USA would be there picking up the action from 3-6 and have the golfchannel play the rest... I mean how many time's can I watch the Big Break 3 you know Holy ****...
Lets face it guys, golf on TV is like watching paint dry. Like hockey it just doesn't translate well to the medium. I say at least on Sundays put them in carts and stick with covering the leader group rather than jumping from one group to the other with only enough cameras to cover the putting.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

:end-rant:
I was glad to see the coverage today. To me a golf shot is a golf shot, no matter who is doing the hitting. I guess I can't understand the theory that watching the bigger name players is more "exciting". Golf is basically not exciting except for that rare occasional shot that might be caught on camera and there are 140 players who might hit that shot at any time.
Now, I can understand wanting to see more of a favorite player (for me, that is Fred Couples) just to see how they are doing, but for the most part unless you're a Tiger fan, that is impossible when he is playing (or even when he's not playing since they show highlights from prior tournaments he did play in, such as last week) since more than 80% of the coverage focuses on Tiger (live or in replays). If there had not been a weather delay today, Tiger would have been on center stage. Of that, there is no doubt.

I guess I should check out that theory the next time I paint , because I enjoy both on TV, although hockey is much better live. IMO, it's the sport where seeing it live most dramatically improves the experience.
I agree waz. Before I took up golf I watched Tiger hit 290 yards on TV a million times. The first time I saw someone do this on the golf course was a much different experience indeed. I guess its just one of those "you just had to be there" type things.
