wazman, I enjoy watching Vijay play too. I just don't like it when he's beating Tiger or Phil. I don't know why, but it seems like Vijay doesn't take out Sergio very often. Sergio is on the top of my most hated golfers list. Actually, he's the ONLY one on the list. I dislike Vijay off the course, but on the course I respect him. Sergio is just a whiny little baby and his arrogance makes Tiger look like the most humble person in the world (and that's saying something!). Sergio =
I even root for VJ. I love his swing. So long, easy and supple ... especially for a guy his age.... once these guys start pushing into their mid-40s I root for all of them (except for Scott Hoch). Even though I disagreed with his comments on Annika, I respected him for honestly voicing his opinions rather than spouting the "party line" like everyone else. You know a lot of those guys must have had similar feelings. If Sergio started winning a lot he'd probably get on my nerves too , but for now I just consider him "colorful".
Qualified being the key word here. Let me know when you find a woman "qualified" to play on the PGA Tour. So far all they've "qualified" to do is be a ticket seller and a media side show. :nodsmiley
I'll show you one in about 5 or 6 years: Michelle Wie. Remember the Sony Open last year? Dang, she beat out some very good players in that tournament, including a guy who had his foot in his mouth after making derogatory comments about women playing men's tourneys: Scott Hoch.

She didn't even "qualify" to play on the weekend! Come back in 5 or 6 years and we'll talk. Until then you're just wishing. :nodsmiley
I'm not just wishing, I KNOW. However, I was being pessimistic with the years I listed. I bet it will be less than 5 years before she's playing the PGA Tour on a regular basis (officially QUALIFIED).

Since you "know" such things so far in advance......got any lottery numbers for tonight's drawing? The odds are about the same!
Cole, she won't ever play unless Tiger quits and kicks Hootie out as the Chairman and becomes the first black chairman. Can you imagine the PRESSURE for Hootie and the members of Augusta if Tiger were to campaign for Augusta Chairman? The media (and PGA Tour for that matter) would pressure them with the race issue.
If she qualifies they have to let her, unless they change their rules. BTW Cole, I know you were interested in Augusta membership and I read in this months Golf Digest the initiation fee is rumored to be in the low 5 figures plus a couple grand per year dues. It's getting the invite that is the killer.

Now that was funny!!!!!!!! Do you really think those money bags would cave to that?

How about you hold your breath on that one! Even Tiger's money pales in comparison to the good old boy's who run Augusta National. The only "color" that matters there is green! It's a private club and no one is ever going to dictate anything to them.
Forged, I think they don't care about the media, but I do think the PGA Tour is definitely heavily influenced by Tiger's influence on golf in general. I think that they would tell the Masters to either allow Tiger a chance at chairman or the Masters would no longer be a "major" and would no longer be part of the PGA Tour.

You are sadly mistaken my young friend. Wittness what they did to their sponsers during the Martha Burke fiasco. They would fire the PGA in a heartbeat and still hold the tournament. They could care less if the PGA considered it a Major or not.
