Great article....This is the best part,

"Tour officials tested the grooves in Phil Mickelson's wedges two years ago because someone saw him hit a shot out of the rough with an extraordinary amount of spin. Before long, Mickelson figured out it was Michael Clark, and left him a note in his locker thanking him for his concern and wishing him well at Q-school"

Funny, but that's the part I copied and sent to all my golf buddies too! (I saw this article earlier).

Yeah, talk about being put in your place!

I think if the PGA Tour had a sense of humor, they would put Tiger and Tom Pernice in the same group for tomorrow and Friday.

"It wasn't even close," Woods said. "I'm well below the speed limit. The hotter it gets, the more I cut it. I can't control the ball if it's coming off the face that fast."

At 142 in driving accuracy now, could you imagine where woods would be if he was at or over the usga limit?

Pernice is NUTS! Woods was using extremely OUTDATED technology for quite a long time. Now that he upgrades to the graphite and big headed driver, he's blowing it past Mickelson so obviously he MUST be cheating right? Pernice should look at the driving distance stats from the mid-1990s to early 2000s. Woods was always outdriving people. But then, all of a sudden, Mickelson, Els, and Singh are hitting it the same distance as Tiger? Could it be that they upgraded technology? DUH Pernice.

I think Tiger has put Mickelson and all the rest back in their places by upgrading his driver. It's not illegal...anyone can go and buy a 460 cc Nike Ignite. He's blowing it past people b/c he finally got in tune with the technology that everybody else (including PERNICE) has taken advantage of the past few years. Pernice should look at swing speeds. I'm sure Pernice has gained 30-50 yards on his tee shots since getting the newer stuff that's been out for a few years. Let's put that in proportion with Woods' swing speed which is even faster than John Daly and Hank Kuehne's. It's not like Tiger was an average hitter or anything before. Woods, despite Vijay and Phil's technology, was still able to put it out there just as far even when he had his old Nike 275 cc with the short steel shaft. Pernice is just a jealous bum who's best friends with Vijay (El Tigre's main rival). Hmmm...something fishy about it for sure.

If Pernice were playing in the tournament and wanted to question a player's club, I say more power to him. Laying on the couch at home and dialing up the PGA Tour to question a player's equipment is just horse pucky!

None of the top players would ever risk being labeled a "cheater." Pernice was way off base with this one.

LG, you've been married how long? Doubt there's anything I could tell your better half that she doesn't already know!

If they're so worried about Tiger's ability to hit the long ball, maybe we should have him tested for steriods...Hold on everyone, I'm calling Congress!
