Pro's golf swing

I was wondering if anyone watched a PGA Tournament before and if they watched what kind of shots most pro's use (fades, draw, straight)?? I cant seem to see what kind of shot they shoot cause I only watch them play on TV.

Well really it just depends on what the player prefers. I know Tiger favors a draw, while VJ favors a fade. Then there are players like Fred Funk who play it straight. Its all a matter of opinion.

When I watch on TV, and they show the shot from ground level and behind the player, it looks like every shot they hit is
going dead right.

Every player has his own particular tendencies toward drawing or fading the ball but they all know how to hit a shot the situation calls for.

Ummmm...I don't know what Tiger you've been watching, but the one who's been playing with the "new swing" prefers a power fade. I don't know if you noticed at Doral, but he was aiming well left on every tee shot and Roger Maltbie was commenting that the shots were fading. Tiger plays a draw with his irons, but when it comes to the driver (which he struggles with), I think he's more comfortable playing that power fade like Jack Nicklaus used to do.

Tiger, when at the top of his game, has been a fader of the ball off the tee. Only when he fiddled with his swing in 03 and 04 to try and gain more distance did he ever have that as his primary ball flight.

I always wondered about that... not just a little right but straight right off the side of the TV?? It's weird

...And I've watched the pros a few times and whatever draw/fade they hit was pretty subtle, most of them were pretty straight with just a little action on it to take one side out of play...

I read somewhere that pro's do not work the ball as much as they used to. They don't have to because they hit the ball so far and the clubs are so much better that they feel like they can hit it consistantly straight. Of course they can work a fade or a draw when they need too (90% of the time anyway). From what I have seen though most prefer to fade the ball off the tee now.

It's harder to work the ball with the bigger and bigger driver heads. Physically it's more difficult to manipulate these larger heads and bring them square at impact especially when you're swinging 120 mph like Tiger.
