I was watching the GC last night at 1am and they had a special Masters show with Mike Weir and on the first playoff hole, if you dont remember their putts were horrible. Len Mattiace putted off the green from 15'.
3 months later, Mike had found out that they rolled the green when they were playing the 18th expecting a playoff.
Do you think this was fair?
I say no and think this was unfair to both players.

I think it's unfair too. If you are going from one round to the next, say on a 36 hole day, or a next day playoff, that would be fine. But, to me, a same day, or sudden death playoff should be considered part of the final round, and the course should not be altered.

I agree, but that's Augusta for you. Next ... the new gutta percha Augusta ball... or maybe a few windmills ? but I'll still be watching every minute I can.

"unfair" would be if one of the players had to putt on the rolled green and the other didn't. That was not the case at all. Now, perhaps the last to putt may have had a bit of an advantage over the first by seeing how the putt rolled and by being closer to the hole, but isn't that the case on every hole in every tournament?
