jhsn, he's definitely tearing it up...but he's done this before at the Masters and choked. My assumption is that he'll be playing with Tiger come Sunday afternoon and it will get to him a bit.
Well, I hope he chokes b/c I want to see some drama tomorrow. I have nothing against DiMarco, but I want to see him challenged. But experience should help DiMarco a lot this weekend. Two close calls at the Masters. A playoff at the PGA last year. It may be his time. I just hope Tiger or someone steps up.
Yeah I've had that leaderboard on all day...but never noticed the pin position thing. It is usually back left on Sunday, but I think they've put it there in earlier rounds before as well. Must be it's going to be front right this afternoon.

Yeah, they'll probably put it in the front right later today, or front left maybe? But my guess is that the front left is probably still pretty wet from all the rain draining down the slope to that part of the green.
Bjorn's play has kind of surprised me. He started out with a bogey today, then had 2 eagles within 3 holes...and has ALL PARS since then. No birdies, no bogeys....just Even Steven. Kind of a strange way to play at the Masters I think (very good strategy for the U.S. or British Open, but not the Masters). It won't last very long because Tiger will pass him in the third round if he's going to sit there and make pars all day long.
EDIT: right as I say this, Bjorn birdies the 8th hole. Good for him...I'm glad to see him get off the par streak. Those are not good unless it's the U.S. Open or the British Open (in gayle force winds with strong rain anyway).

Looking at the course cam on 16, it was showing Clarke tapping in and it does appear that the pin is on the left side...maybe not in the front but definitely not in the back. It's short of the bunker, so I think their placement position on the graphic is off.

I guess it's more in the middle-left part of the green then?
BTW, Ernie just birdied 15 to get back to +3...he's going to need it because 17 and 18 are a couple of tough holes, especially if you're not playing very well (which describes Ernie at the moment). Woods parred 16 to stay 7 back of DiMarco, who parred 17 to stay at 10 under.
So long as there are no disasters on the final few holes, it looks like the final pairing this afternoon will be Dimarco-Bjorn, with Howell, Woods, Mickelson and Singh making up the two groups behind them. Sorta interesting...Dimarco has had many chances in majors so far to win, but has stumbled a little bit on Sundays, and Bjorn of course is as known for his debacle in the sand on 16 at St. George's in 2003 as anything...also he had to take some time off last year maybe to deal with "demons"...can those two remain level-headed if (probably more like when) Woods, Mickelson or Singh make a charge? The odd man there seems to be Howell, and I don't know a ton about him except for his Ryder Cup play. I think it's first-last when pairing so it'll either be Howell-Woods or Howell-Singh....and the other pairing should be juicy any way you look at it. Woods and Mickelson, possibly putting on a show like they did at Doral this year to get close to the lead and prepare for a Sunday charge? Or Singh and Mickelson, playing together only one day after their now-infamous flap over the spikes? The Golf Gods sure have a way of making things interesting for us....see Mickelson and Woods at the Buick in '03 right after Phil's 'inferior equipment' comments. Oh well, should be fun.
edit: Tiger birdies 17 to go to -6 on the day, -4 for the tourney, Bjorn birdies 9 to finish at -6, and Dimarco pars 18 to finish at -10.
card, are you certain that they're only playing 2-somes? With the weather delays, they aren't exactly on schedule and I would think they'd still be playing 3-somes. If this is the case, Tiger could be in the final group since he's currently in 3rd alone.
He might...I see on the coursecam he's in the woods on 18, but it looks like a clear shot...we'll see what he can pull off out of there. If they are playing threesomes it'll be an advantage for him to be playing with Bjorn and Dimarco, as he could be right in the same group applying pressure.
I'm listening to Masters radio, and Tiger just had a 25 footer from the fringe, and he played a flop shot b/c it had a 10-20 foot break if he had putted it. He actually spun the ball BACK when it landed and he's got about 2-3 feet for his par.
The announcers just said that 99.7% of the players wouldn't have tried that shot. The .03%? Probably Tiger and Phil.
Tiger makes the 3 footer for par (lipped it in...probably one of the only GOOD breaks he's had this week...LOL). Els bogeyed 17 to drop to +4. If he bogeys 18, he is DONE. Not good news for golf fans because I know I wanted to see him play well this week. Tiger's 66 is the low round of the tournament...coulda been a 65 if not for the bogey at 14. He shoots a 66 or 65 later today, and he'll be putting big time pressure on DiMarco.
Yeah that was a very solid round by Tiger...leaves him right in the thick of things. I'm looking forward to the coverage in a bit. I wonder if they'll do the split tees, threesomes bit? Because if they did the leaders would be teeing off before 4 ET I would think, and they could get in probably 13 holes or so before darkness. Then it wouldn't be a problem at all getting in the final round tomorrow.
Wow, Adam Scott is 5 over par for his second round and +4 for the tournament. He's on the 18th. He bogeys 18 and he's done, just like Els if Ernie bogeys it.
Masters radio just had a quote from Jack in the pressroom. He says that he won't play in the tournament again...he'll play the par 3 tourney, but not the actual Masters. Ernie makes a 7 footer for par at 18 to stay at +4. I think he might make the cut. The cut-line is jumping back and forth between +3 and +4 according to the announcers. Adam Scott has a 4 footer for birdie and he makes it to move to +3. That might hurt Ernie quite a bit.

That's sad news for golf fans everywhere. I wish he'd have been able to get his proper sendoff from the fans.
