Frenchy, Tiger was counted out after 9 holes of the 1997 Masters, when he shot 40 (+4). The back nine of his first round though, he shot a 30 (-6) to finish at -2 for the round. After that, he continued playing like he did in the second nine and blew the field off the course. He waited a big longer this time...he waited a full round before he turned the after-burners on.
Cole, what happened? Tiger had 4 straight birdies to start the back nine (7 straight overall after finishing yesterday with 3 straight) and DiMarco double bogeyed the 10th hole. After that, DiMarco had 3 more bogeys. Tiger bogeyed 14 and 15...so it stands currently:
Tiger 11 under
DiMarco 8 under
Bjorn 7 under
Mickelson 5 under
Immelman 5 under
Singh 4 under
2 shot lead with 6 holes to go... Tiger will be tough to catch. But a few of the closing holes offer the opportunity for a 2-shot swing (closing the gap or sealing the deal for TW). I was afraid that the 4th round would be a Tiger victory lap, but that was naive. The drama I wanted is here.

DiMarco just won't go away...Back to 1 behind This is so much better then watching Tiger run away from the field....
FANTASTIC wedge from DiMarco on 15 (after his much-discussed lay-up on his second shot), especially considering he had to wait for the crowd roar from 16 (after Immelman's ace there).
You're right, Dante... this really is an interesting study in how different people manage stress.
