The Wachovia field appears to be pretty strong. I think 8 of the top 10 are there so definitely the strongest since the Masters. Quail Hollow is a top-notch course so I'm thinking we'll have a top-notch leaderboard this weekend. I'd expect Tiger, Vijay and Phil to all contend.

Quite a few draws for Tiger this year. And if he was EVER to make an exception to his practice of not playing the week before a major, it could be for this year's Booze Allen Hamilton being played at Congressional, the site of an upcoming US Open (2009?). Tiger didn't fare very well there the last time around.

Interesting info, Jimmigan... I had no idea it was being played at Congressional. I just looked it up... Congressional has the 2009 US Amateur, and the 2011 US Open.

I wonder if its good or bad to play such a difficult course the week before. Pinehurst is going to be demanding and nerve racking, I wonder if Congressional would be a good tune up, or might be a bit draining the week before the US Open.

Yeah, the Booze Allen could get a nice turnout due to it being played at Congressional. Ernie is in and Tiger, Phil and Vijay are all thinking about playing.
