I have a Volkey and I absolutely love it. I can hit a dart on the green from a hundred yards with that bad boy. Makes the ball stick like glue. But alot of that has to do with the player too...Anyways, I would never trade it in, but try both at golfsmith or someother place with a driving range (ours in austin has a huge one) and see how you like them.
ok wich one would you say would be more useful for 50 yard shots, and around the green im only going to get 1, but i cant think which one, maybe the 56 is more versatile as you can open the face for more loft etc.
im sorry bjw but PLEASE dont type voLkey anymore, bbaiselle or w/e does has it like that in his sig but i guess im a lil OCD about this stuff... its just really annoying to me...
i have a wuestion about this club. i just got a 54 and 58 and they are the bronze colored ones. i used the 58 a few times in the bunker and i noticed that the bronze is starting to come off. i realize this is normal, but i am wondering 2 things.
1.) is this a good thing? what does it mean when the bronze comes off?
2.) how long does it take to to rust, and rust is a good thing, right?

thanks in advance.
What I do is put a quarter cup of slightly wet salt in a sandwich bag, then put the wedge head in that bag, tie it by the shaft, and leave it alone for a few days. The rust will come back. I've also put the wet salt directly on the wedge to speed up the process. Doesn't produce a uniform result though.
I think I read about this technique somewhere. Please correct me if I'm doing this for no good reason. I always thought the rust was good at gripping the ball.
Mike, the bronze is probably an oil can finish....most people like it, but it does come off pretty quickly especially if you use it in the sand a bunch. It will rust eventually if you do nothing or you can try to keep the rust at beh/bah (SP) with the use of silicon spray. If you like the rust then just keep using it and do nothing or you can try many different things to make it rust quicker. Personally I don't like the rust, but some do. Your choice.
