I want to replacemy old rtg, and wanted to try something else besides Cleveland wedges. Altho the Black pearl CG 10's caught my eye. Anyone here have the Vokey Spin Milled? I was thinking of getting a 54 degree 10 bounce wedge as a gap wedge. How is it in tight lies, and in the rough? Any good control around the greens?
If your looking for back spin , these are the clubs to get , i have the 56/10 and 60/8 and love them , up until i bought these clubs i had a hard time stopping balls on the green , not a problem anymore , i am thinging of getting a non spin mill for those shots you want to run a few yards cause with the spin mills its like a fire drill , Drop, stop and roll (backwards ) every time .. they work well from any lie , sometimes i feel they might have to much spin from the rough if there is such a thing as to much spin ... well worth the 99.00 bucks ...just my .o2
i agree...i play a spinmilled 58.12, however i use to play a 54.10 and it spun too much on approach shots. i went back to my 54.14 degree black nickel beacuse it released more. the SM 58 is my go to club around the greens and in the sand. a very nice wedge. play them i think u might like it more than clevelands...i use to play 588 cleveland; and the titliest has more feel for me.
for what its worth...late
I have to disagree about the spin milled wedges. I had one and really wanted to love it, but just could not do it. Traded it for the cg and found heaven.
The Vokey Spin Milled Wedges were my favorite clubs last year and this year as well. I now have 3 Vokey Wedges and picked up my first gap wedge this year (playing over 30 years hehe). I have 52, 56, and 60 in the Vokeys. The clubs couldn't be much better, but get used to balls being ripped up by the grooves.
