After hemming and hawing over wedges I recently purchased a set if Ping iWedges. My PW is 46-degrees, so I purchased a 50, 54, and 58 degree iWedges (like to keep the lofts of my clubs even).
I am very pleased with these wedges. I have hit them from a variety of lies, from tight to thick and have done very well with them (I practice my short-game a lot). I like them better than the G2 wedges that I purchased with my original set a long time ago. They are also a great price: $99. I got the steel shaft with cushion insert. For me they are easy to hit and I can spin them under the right conditions.
ive got a zing 2 56 and 60 degree and im kinda scared to get some new wedges, when im swinging good i have so much control over the distance and accuracy.

I understand. I hit the G2s well, but I wanted a little more "juice" out of my short game, so I took the chance. As I said, I am very pleased with these wedges, and the price was right. Here's what Ping says on their website:
PING's reputation for performance and versatilty in wedge design dates back to the development of the EYE2 model—a favorite among tour professionals worldwide. Today, PING wedges offer even more versatility and reliability for all types of players.
The new iWedge borrows the proven sole technology of the EYE2 and combines it with a multi-level cavity for improved performance from all conditions. The Tour Wedge features a classic look and milled grooves provide added control around the green.
I hit them at a local retailer and liked the feel. I called Ping and talked to a fitter and he told me that Chris DiMarco tried them a week before last year's British Open and liked them so much that he took a set with him and played them. But I didn't buy them for that reason (I'm no CD . I bought them because I like the way they perform. I feel I have more control, and they spin better.
Thats the only thing i dont like about my Zing 2's, they dont spin, just a little check and roll on chip shots, i would like to have the one hop and stop on chips in my arsenal.
The iWedges probably won't spin as much as a Vokey or Cleveland, but I like Ping and I liked the price. The Ping Tour Wedges will probably offer more spin, but the iWedges are a bit more forgiving.
I recently replaced my old wedges and hit the Ping IWedges. They are a solid wedge they felt kind of bottom heavy, really light at 7:30 and 9:00, but felt really heavy and deep at contact. Maybe a symptom of the cavity back design. I am a Cleveland wedge fan, but I found I like the Nike SV and Vokey Spin Milled better was really surprised I had anticipated buying a new set of Clevelands and walked out with a set of Vokeys.
But Back to the Ping wedges, kind of wierd feel to me, but performance was very good. I could not get them to spin that well (The vokeys spin balls if I just tap them) but nice solid roll out on chips and enough spin to stop the ball fairly fast when you lay it up. Nice Wedge for the money. Another wedge I was impressed with and did not buy was the Mizuno MP-T really felt light good spin.
I looked at the Vokey's but a little to pricey for me, and I liked that heavy bottom feeling because I feel like I don't have to swing the club, but let it do the work for me. Yes, I would have liked more spin, but overall these were a great fit for me.
