Infiniti IP-3 Wedge Review

I took them out to the range today, 56* and 60*. they are very easy to hit, very smooth.

the milled face gives alot of spin behind the ball.
they are weighted very nice, very similar to the vokey spin milled in terms of weight and balance.

the one thing that bugs me is that the milled faces are very easy to scuff, and hard to clean.

i like my clubs looking good, and today i managed to hit a hard object and it put a microscopic scratch on the face. luckily its only cosmetic.

i have mine set up "spinner" style with true temper dg r300

Hey - Maybe it's me - but I don't expect soft feeling wedges to be indestructible - especially if you hit a "hard object"
My experience is similar to yours in that the wedges are extremely smooth - and really get the ball to check up. I am not a player who can ordinarily spin the ball, but the grooves I found to hold up and actually get the ball to check from a variety of distances from 90 yards in. Great wedge!

I'm still getting accustomed to my new 56 degree from Solid Rock Golf. I had my shaft spinner cut too, and I too love the way it sets the ball on the green so softly. I also like the sole grind, which allows it to function as good sand wedge, but still can be opened up for a high pitch from a tight lie.

Excellent wedge, and the price at $55 makes it one of the best deals around. Try to find another milled face wedge for that price, custom built to your specs.

heh. i dont know what i hit or what i did to deserve a tiny surface scratch less than 1mm in size, i cant even see it when i am addressing the ball. im ok with that.

and yes i had the same experience with the wedge being extrememly smooth and easy to slide under the ball.

and fourputt: i cant see any "real" flaw to this wedge, its perfect in every way that i can think of so far.

if i had to go for something, its those 3 little holes that have been drilled on the back side stuff seems to get in there

Well, I got to play my new 51° wedge today (just got it Monday, and it rained all day yesterday)... I'm going to love this club. Gonna have to reall work now to get a feel for it though. These are very different from my Cobras, but I like the way they feel around the green much better. Hit a couple of really nice chips today with the 51°, and one decent (but misjudged by me) shot with the 56°.

These are really nice wedges, and the price is hard to beat. Thanks again to Christian at Solid Rock Golf.

Re: Infiniti IP-3 Wedge Review

Glad to hear the wedges are working so well for everyone... Mine has become the community wedges here at the driving range and it seems someone is always walking of with it.

Best wedge I have ever played and with the chipping green here I have the chance to test alot of wedges.

Its the versatility that wins me over with the IP-3's
