Vegas, baby!

Hey everyone, I'm off to Vegas early Feb for a conference and am looking for recommendations on places to play in the area.

I'll be staying near the convention center, which I guess from the map is northern strip area. I've never been, so I don't know how central that is.

Although I'd love the opportunity to play Shadow Creek, that's a little out of my price range.

I probably will get 2 chances to play, 3 tops. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. I don't mind paying over $100, but it better be worth it!

About an hour away in Pahrump Valley are two fine courses that my wife and I play whenever we travel to Vegas. They are Willow Creek, ph. 877, 779-4653 and Mountain Falls, ph. 775, 537-6553. The rates are under $50, but you need to call them to check on starting times as they may go to a shotgun start in mid-morning if the valley floor freezes over night early in the year. You can get info on both by entering Golf Courses Pahrump Valley on your browser.

Looks nice. Eek at $225 though.

Wow, this is more expensive than Maui. I never thought that was possible.

I'm envious! Love Vegas. Guessing you might be staying at the LV Hilton? Anyways, be sure to check out the Wynn, not too far from there.

If you have a rental car, and a little time to kill, you can find nice and cheaper golf up in Mesquite. Pahrump is another alternative.

Anyways, if you want to browse more specific Vegas info, here is a good Vegas message board I like- http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php

Just got back from my annual New Years Vegas trip. Golf is expensive in this town. I usually play the Boulder City muni. which is fairly reasonable for Vegas ($60 w/cart). This trip I played with a couple from New York and they called a last minute golfer type service and were paying less than $40. They gave the number and I called and set up a tee time at a course I had not played before in town for $60. I called the course to find out the normal rate and they told me $120 . I definitely recommend this service if you are flexible as to where and wnen you want to play. If you are interested I think I still have the number and they are listed in the local Vegas yellow pages.

I don't want you to be the guy in the PG-13 movie everyone's *really* hoping makes it happen. I want you to be like the guy in the rated R movie, you know, the guy you're not sure whether or not you like yet. You're not sure where he's coming from. Okay? You're a bad man. You're a bad man, Mikey. You're a bad man, bad man.

great movie!

About 40 minutes north of the strip is the Paiute Resort. I HIGHLY recommend it. Great golf (Pete Dye designs) and great views.

Awesome courses. Best recommendation so far.

Rio Secco is one of my favorites. Primm Valley about an hour outside of town is cool. Near one of the biggest outlet malls ever, wife dug that. Have fun.
