Just to revive an old thread. The original intent of this one is long dead, but now it's the end of April and the season is full upon us.
For anyone who is interested, there are a lot of really good courses in the Denver/Ft. Collins/Colorado Springs area. From municipal courses for $35 and less up to over $100 in peak season for such courses as Arrowhead. Riverdale Dunes is a muni built by Dye Designs. Indian Peaks is a public access Hale Irwin course. Go a little bit west of here in summer and play some great mountain courses like Keystone Ranch by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., or the Nicklaus designed Breckenridge Golf Course. There are at least 5 public courses I can play within 15-20 minutes of my house.
Denver is an underrated golfing destination. I met a guy here a few years ago who comes to Denver and the mountains west of here every summer from Florida for a golfing vacation. He does it because he likes some of the excellent courses and to get away from the summer heat and humidity.
